DESCRIPTION:Motivational Interviewing is a technique developed in counseling that has emerging evidence as a useful teaching tool\, both in the classroom and in office hours and consultations with individual students. \nThe technique of Motivational Interviewing is particularly effective when someone is exhibiting resistance. It’s a way to facilitate decision-making around change. \nIn the classroom\, for example\, this technique can be used to help students change their exam preparation practices without provoking defensiveness. \nWhat You’ll Gain by Attending:\n*Explain motivational interviewing as a teaching technique.\n*Plan to address common resistance in teaching by applying motivational interviewing.\n*Practice motivational interviewing in educational scenarios. \n\n\n\n\nPlease register for this event.
