DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThis one-hour Zoom workshop introduces participants to peer instruction as a high‑impact teaching strategy for increasing student motivation\, engagement\, and learning. \nAttendees will explore how intentionally designed and facilitated peer-to-peer discussions can promote active learning\, deepen understanding\, and foster a sense of student belonging. \nThe session will focus on practical strategies for designing effective ConcepTest questions and mini-lectures\, facilitating productive discussions\, and responding to common challenges such as uneven participation. \nLearning Objectives:\n\nDescribe the key features of effective peer instruction and explain how it supports student motivation and engagement.\nDevelop ConcepTest questions and mini-lectures to support peer instruction activities.\nDevelop facilitation strategies for integrating peer instruction into their teaching practice.\nIdentify common challenges related to the use of peer instruction.\n\nPresented By:\nJeff Tunney\, Associate Director\, the Center for Teaching & Learning Innovation \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration:\nPlease register for this event.
