Strategies for Engaging with Difficult Students in the Classroom

Engaging with disruptive students can be a difficult process, especially for new faculty members who are facing instances of poor behavior for the first time.
In this workshop, we’ll be discussing the various types of misbehavior, de-escalation methods, and Vermont State’s tips for resolving issues with disruptive students.
By attending this workshop you will:
- *Learn about establishing and reinforcing class expectations.
- *Discuss methods for promoting student civility.
- *Consider ways to leverage workplace expectations.
- *Understand the VTSU recommended tips for dealing with student disruption.
